Consumption
Make sure that your vehicle or machine is equipped with an alternator with sufficient available power according to the exterior unit’s installation position
| Installation of the exterior unit | Electric engine temperature |
Max consumption in 12 V (for an outdoor temperature of +43°C) |
| Flat | 56° C | 83,3 A |
| Horizontal | 60° C | 84,2 A |
| Vertical | 85° C | 89,2 A |
/!\ We strongly recommend the mounting in a flat or horizontal position
Safety features
SKIMO includes 7 safety functions:
Low
voltage
Should the vehicle battery go below a threshold of 10.5 V (for a 12 V SKIMO unit and 21 V for a 24 V unit), the unit will automatically shut down. This feature prevents from emptying the battery and saves enough battery for starting the engine of the vehicle.
Overvoltage
Should the battery voltage reach a threshold of 18 V (for a 12 V SKIMO unit and 36 V for a 24 V unit), the unit will automatically shut down.
Overheat
The unit automatically shuts down in case of overheat of its electrical motor. It will start again only after the temperature has gone down.
Overconsumption
An abnormal consumption of SKIMO will shut the system down.
Overpressure
or low pressure
SKIMO is equipped with a pressure switch which protects the system in case of overpressure or low pressure.
Compressor
security
The compressor is equipped with a pressure safety which protects the system in case of failure of the pressure switch
Operator
safety
KIMO cover safety switch shuts the electrical motor down when the operator removes the cover.
!\ Notice: after a shut down of the system, SKIMO must be switched off and then on again. A safety shut down should occur rarely. In case of repetitive safety shut down, please contact a specialist.
